Marine products from Arctic Enterprises

Arctic Enterprises jumped into the marine business with it's purchase of the Silverline boat comany in 1969. The main goal was to use Silverlines fiberglass  production and increase their profits by expanding. They produced a boat called the "Arctic Grayling" in 1970. In 1976 AC quite using Kawasaki engines in their snowmobiles and went over to Suzuki (they called the new engine "Spirit"). That same year they developed a Spirit outboard boat motor. In 1977 Arctic bought  the Shell Boat Co."Lund Boats", this was to gain more manufacturing plants in MN, WI and Manitoba. It was the Arctic division called"Spirit Marine" that produced inventor Nelson Tyler's "Wetbike" in 1978. The Sundance boat Idea originaly came from Larsen Marine, which became Arctic Marine in 1979.  Spirit outboards were not produced after 1983 when Suzuki entered the outboard motor market on their own.  The Wetbike division was taken over by earlier Arctic Enterprises VP Ralph Loehr who started Sea Crest Inc. (1983-84). It then went to Wetco(1985-87), Ultranautics (1987-92).  AVR Corporation produced the Wetbike prototypes prior to Arctic Enterprises taking over the product.
