| 1966 J.C. Penny Foremost (200 Produced) |
|
Arctic Cat built around 200 of these machines for J.C. Penneys for the 1966 model year. Most of them went to the Alaskan Pipeline. Penneys spec'd a lighter gauge sheet metal for the tunnel so they would not weigh as much as a similar Arctic Cat. The Foremost snowmobile had a problem with the tunnel buckling. So they were retro-fitted with brackets to reinforce the tunnel. Only problem was that now they weighed more than the Arctic Cats! It has an 8 h.p. Kohler engine, barn cleaner track and nylon slides. It has a fiberglass hood. The disc brake and gas tank are similar to the 141-D Cat. |
